Conservatory Makeover – Week 4

This week has been the biggest developmental leap so far & we are finally becoming water tight!

If you need to catch up on the plan & progress –
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3

The weather has set us back slightly but today has seen great progress as we’ve been under pressure to get everything sorted for Monday when a roofer is coming to lay a rubberised roof then fit 2x roof lanterns on Tuesday/Wednesday.

I’m hoping that the scaffolding will be taken down on Thursday & we can finally get cracking on the inside which will include electrics for downlighters, plasterboarding the ceiling & walls, ripping up the flooring & so on.

We also had to make some decisions on layout this week which I haven’t considered all too much considering it’s just been a building site however we had a bit of a shuffle to get an idea one evening & think we’ve finally cracked it. I can’t even explain how HUGE this room is – a whopping 8.33m x 3.7m.

This extension is going to become our lounge area & be carpetted.

Our current lounge will become a dining room with large dresser & I’m on the hunt for a bigger table to upcycle.

The current dining room will become a playroom.

Ignore the awful not to scale drawing but you get the jist – although I’ll probably still change my mind!

I’ve also made the decision to sell our seating bench area which we had custom built only a year ago eeek! It’s so so so beautiful but won’t fit into the plans now. Including the benches with lift up lids, removable grey seating pads, all cushions & table. If anybody is interested then please get in contact by emailing thehomethatmademe@gmail.com (collection from Bournemouth).
